QR code implementation in the production of cross-country ski from Atomic/Salomon

Industry 4.0, Fourth Industrial Revolution, Digital Production, Smart Factory or cyber-physical systems are all terms which are becoming more popular and herald a start to a new era of production facilities. This shows one reason for Amer Sports (Atomic, Salomon) to implement QR codes in every single ski. In the following thesis the benefits of the QR code are clarified, how its optimal integration in the production process looks like and if the measurement system with the new program „New Protocol“ can be classified as capable. This fashion of serial number saving allows different functions and advantages which offer an additional value for every division of the company. Measurement data is automatically recorded, additional data (e.g. which press) is linked and further possibilities are opened up (automatic pairing, KG- and race ski management). In addition a QR code offers a lot of potential as regards B2C communication or in the event of a mobile application development to provide an overvalue for the customer (marketing mix).
What is also crucial, in addition to the functions is the process integration of the QR code in the Nordic sector. In doing so, according to the future functions of the code is the process going to be determined to maintain the efficiency and avoid waste (Muda). Additionally a comprehensive measurement system analysis was realized, which serves for the foundation of the QR code implementation. The measurement system could be classified as capable.
